God dammit, I went to sleep way too early yesterday and I missed Melee.

I should be ready to play later today though.

And I thought the end of City Escape was silly with the references.

The Chao In Space board references most of the cast. It's pretty silly.

Protect the future? I don't know, it's "(Something) the future". Preserve maybe?

Xenoblade Chronicles is a wonderful game so far. It deserves all the hype it gets.

Ken speaks the truth.

But yeah, the game is easily in my "Top 10 games of all time" list.
Uber-hypetrain for Xenoblade Chronicles X?

I'm actually not very far in Xenoblade yet. I only just got to Colony 6, but the game is just wonderful. The combat is super smooth and fun, and doesn't get repetitive. It makes some of the more archaic RPG quirks modern and convenient. Hell, I've spent most of my time so far doing fetch quests and bear-ass collecting and I've enjoyed it! This games makes those sorts of things enjoyable!

The game is beautiful. That seems strange to say, because it doesn't really have great textures anywhere and the render distance isn't super good. Some of the animations are weird, like jumping. What makes it so impressive is the sheer scale of its areas. The fact that I can go to the highest point of colony 9 and see the entire thing without it looking blurry or foggy, or being able to see a tree from the other end of the area, is amazing. Then you get to Gaur Plains and ho-ly shit.

Even better, although the areas are gigantic, they (so far) don't feel empty. Gaur Plains, for how massive it is, has so much in it. It has recognizable areas, different enemies all over the place, surprise NPCs you didn't expect, and near-death experiences with level 90 giants. And even though it took a pretty long time to walk everywhere, I was never bored. I always had enemies or the environment to marvel at and it kept things from being drab.

DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THE MUSIC BECAUSE IT'S AMAZING

The story so far is pretty different from most RPG stories and the characters are great. They're human and easy to relate to. The voice acting is generally pretty good, if not a little hammy, but they say it with such conviction that it gets me caught up in it too.

Goddamn this game is fantastic so far. I have a hard time finding something wrong with it besides nitpicky things. I think I played it 7 hours today.

I'm also using the HD texture pack (because as much as I like this game, I don't want to pay a scalper 100 bucks for it; it wouldn't even support Nintendo anyway), which takes care of most of the bad textures, which only makes the game look even better.

HOW IS THIS GAME SO GOOD

I will almost certainly get XCX if it's anywhere as good as its prequel.

Wow, that was a lot bigger than I meant it to be.

Tis the way of the PC unfortunately. : (

It could be worse, we COULD be downloading cracks from Pirate Bay.
Now THAT? THAT I'll never do.

Yo, if I could have bought Xenoblade from Nintendo without spending over $250 on a new 3DS and a new copy of the game, I would. But I don't have a lot of money to drop on that. I only try to get games that are unavailable from Nintendo or are just for netplay. I mean, I guess I could spend $100 on a Wii copy, but that money just goes to a reseller, not Nintendo, so what's the point?

Just pirate and buy it later. It's not worth buying something you wouldn't get close to full enjoyment out of anyway so you might as well have a taste.
I mean that's the philosophy I use with music and I support all the artists I feel that deserve my money for giving me a good record. It works pretty similar to Vidya.

So Pirate Bay got taken down and then put up again literally hours later. It is a modern marvel.

Well, the Gamecube adapter checks out all good.
Now I just have to get used to playing with a Gamecube controller...

A friend of mine has started streaming recently and I've been doing a bit with that. I might actually have a go at it.
