Good Evening, my friends. I am SaveTheCake, however back when Sonic Arena 2 was still around, I went by the two names "Kiritsu" and "Supplicium".

It has, indeed, been far too long since I last came into contact with someone from Sonic Arena 2, and I had completely forgot that Ken, along with a few others, had started this forum and began development for another Sonic MMORPG.

Well, I think that I've done a brilliant job with my description, so now I'm gonna go fly over to the chocolate river.

Oh, and I also get a kick out of those Emoticons. I'm gonna have some fun with those. Ring

Before I become the bearer of bad news, I'd like to say "welcome to our humble abode!" Not sure if you would remember me (Ray the Ekoknight). Maybe I PK'd you in Underground Cavern or something silly like that. Regardless, welcome. Feel free to take a glance-over of those rules and join in on the Chat and converse with our happy little bunch.

Now then, sorry to partially burst your bubble, but the whole "New Sonic MMO" thing kinda went south. Like, tip-of-Antarctica south. Work DID get started on a sort of singleplayer RPG to act as a "supplement" to the dead "TFC" which had a much more concrete story somewhat based on an RP set in the Sonic Arena universe, but we hit a brick wall in development with that when we realized we did not have a spriter to actually make the tiles and character images that are pretty much the biggest part of any project. Of course, I still have faith in the project and still have a ton of base-work done, but without sprites it's nothing more than text on a Word Document or a log of a chat conversation.

On the bright side, you're more than welcome to hang around with our happy little band of SA2 remnants. We've got forum games and a RP/writing section, if either of those tickle your fancy (what does that phrase even mean?).

TL;DR: No MMO at the moment, but welcome, fellow SA2 remnant!

Ah, indeed. I remember both you and Ken rather well, Ray.

I didn't see Ken too much, but I recall that he had a Mephiles sprite, and hung around the marketplace. As for you Ray, I believe that you were a green hedgehog, who loitered around the top left-hand corner of the market and often went to go and PK.

Pity, I was expecting that there would have been a lot of progress with development, considering that it has been about two years since SA2 went down. However, I may have the solution that will help you tear down the brick wall in development, for I actually have many sprite sheets at my disposal, and I am willing to create some sprites, if you wish.

Specifically, what sprites are you lacking in? I could most certainly be of assistance.

Well, specifically we're needing just about everything. Tilesets for "remastered" versions of all the main areas of SA2's universe: a "ruined" Green Grove (will include a section that is identical to the original SA2 maps) as well as the accompanying forest, an "intact", "burning", and "ruined" Empire City, a more fanciful Dusty Plains, Ice Cap, Casinopolis, Ravaged Grasslands, and Flame Core tileset, as well as additional tilesets for interior-related structures (including a giant air frigate and a scientific military outpost). There are some miscellaneous stuff, but I won't bore you with those.

I would just like to take this post to fluff up my post count, and remind Ray of the Cat's starting area in Sonic Arena 2, whatever it was called I don't remember, being a flaming ruined car crashed wasteland variant of Green Grove and confusing people a lot. Red Rove, I think it was called, maybe?

Red Rove was more Green-Grove-Gone-Crisis-City. It has no place in TD RPG. The "ruined" Green Grove is more along the lines of "a certain something with an army came through and tore the place to shreds and reduced it to a smoking ruin, but grass still exists and there are no cars".

But yeah. Welcome my good sir. I'm Quills on Wheels but you can call me Quillz or whatever everyone here calls me, Firo. You might remember me as Biggest Sonic Fan from the SAC forums or my character, Firo the Hedgehog as the awesome, brave leader of the legendary Wolf Squad clan which stayed alive until the very bitter end of SA2.

Anyhow nothing much I can add to what's been said before other then welcome and I truly hope you are our hope for continuing the game.

Oh, dear...

Well, I appear to have my work cut out for me, because I already have dozens of sprites that I dug up from the archives of the Internet, which can most certainly suit your requests.  However, I will need to get to work on a few different sprites, which I currently do not have at my disposal.  I'm not really sure how post download links for the site, so that you may see the sprites that I already have to be put to use (because I'm a bit of a n00b).

As I had already mentioned, I have a few sprites that are finished, and can be used. Here is the list:

A Gmerl sprite. (Gold, Blue and Red colors.)

A somewhat "antihero" hedgehog. (Slash)

An "inferno-fire" hedgehog.

An "energy-based blue hedgehog".

A sprite which could potentially be Darkus.

And a few other random sprite-related shizzle which could be put to use.



I'm happy to be of assistance.  (Oh, and where can I change my profile picture, and give myself a quote for my posts?)

Holy shit is TD actually getting back on track? That's some better news, barring the fact that there has been nothing news worthy happening lately about the forums, aside from Ken having heart palpitations due to FFXV and KH3.
