Twenty thou is a lot of manies.

http://playstarbound.com/16th-may-progress/

Stardew Valley is a game I've been excited for as well, and part of the "Chucklefish has a lot of unreleased/unfinished games now doesn't it..." even though 3/4 are publishing and not developing and you should check it out if you like Harvest Moon or Rune Factory even slightly. And concept is similar to Minecraft even.
farm on the surface world

Man, Firo's method of rising his post count is all wrong. All you gotta do is be a leader of some project's thread that updates often! I should do this more.

My last post is also incorrect. There are 4 games that Chucklefish in total are publishing, an additional developing in Starbound. The only one that has come out officially yet however is Wanderlust: Rebirth. However, I'm leaving my numeric errors in hopes that it confuses archaeologists.

I'm not sure I like the font on the nametags, but I'll probably get used to it.

I don't really mind the font, 'tis more the names going away that kinda bothers me.
Although, rereading it, it *does* just say "on the screen", so hm.

Another thing that kind of ruins the whole concept of being able to be "sneaky" is the ALT thing. By logic, couldn't someone just hold down ALT if they wanted to make sure no one snuck up on them?

PostSubject: Re: Starbound   Sat 18 May 2013, 9:30 pm

I've been refraining to post here again in a feeble attempt to lower my double postings, but remember that these are Work In Progress, if it was finished we'd be playing Starbound by now Laughing

The name tag font works a lot better for "Appears, then disappears" than for an always up there nametag, had they made it so the name tags stayed on screen I would of liked it much better if it was in a box like Minecraft's at the very least.

Well, they say that if you go into the dark the names don't automatically appear, but I don't know if you hold it down if they'll appear in the dark, but something to consider Ray...
Holding down the Alt Key 24/7 is very challenging. If you're using a physical keyboard, back in the days of Win XP anyways if you held down too many buttons it would beep at you, doesn't seem to be the case anymore on Win 7 but still. Not to mention actually holding down the button that long, if Jump is on space you pretty much couldn't jump (Though I'd rather rebind it to W). If you're using some sort of macro program, well, I don't know. I'll just be very disappointed in you.

If it wasn't for the potential for some program to be developed so that Alt's always pressed, it'd be fine! But isn't that true for a lot of things? If there wasn't anyway to cheat, it'd be fine!
If it is made in such a way where pressing Alt shows the people in the dark (Which would be nice if you pay fairly, sort of functioning as a radar), I'd imagine it'd be like a time limit. If you held down Alt for 30 seconds without moving, have like 3 minutes where you can't use alt to see player names. Less or more when you move depending on how many interactive objects in the game.

I wonder if there's a way to upgrade your ship to be bigger, or if you can add furnature or gadgets to it.

Darklasher II, anyone?

I was pretty sure that it was supposed to be customizable, but I might of confused it with the now defunct space station! (I just checked here because I'm lazy)

Here's the progress post that included that spaceship animation, but the video got uploaded first.

Read the link, according to that it does say Ships can get bigger. Woo-hoo.

Also, Ken got me a Starbound preorder for graduation. This is why he's my favorite Head Admin and fellow staff member. Double woo-hoo.

Speaking of which, took a listening to the soundtrack so far. The second half of "Glacial Horizon" is pretty awesome, and of the "experimental" tracks, "Forest Battle 1" is pretty in a "majorly dramatic massacre" kind of way, and "Desert Battle 2" is very catchy and battle-representing. I hope those latter two get put in the game. Tripple woo-hoo.

And to top it off, High School is over in two weeks for me. OVER-Woo-Hoo!

...Oh God I've been playing too much Halo 4...

Yeah the soundtrack is amazing, I particularly like Haiku and Glacial Horizon. The only one that I don't like is Mira, which sounds so bland and is like 20 minutes, the hell?

I quite like those text bubble do hickeys.
That armour's headpiece reminds me of Spiral Knight's Jelly Helm line. The rest of the armour just looks like a fancy space computer mouse.

We’ve also been working on getting the ship upgrades to work nice and seamlessly so you don’t need to reorder any of your decoration when upgrading.

Spoilers? Oh deeeeeeaaar! There isn't any, it was just a note of spoilers possibly being a thing.

That random screenshot has a massive sword to it, I like it. Looks rather nice, kind of reminds me of a less rusty Thief Sword... thing from Castle Crashers if it was larger. Actually, wasn't there a more metallic sword using the same basic line sort of dealio in that game? I'll have to check later.

I like that sword. Looks painful. Also, what's an avian tomb? Is it a spawned structure or what?
