PostSubject: Firo's art gallery    Sat 10 Mar 2012, 7:34 am

I had this planned since ages ago but I just didn't feel like doing it. So yeah... This is the place where I would like to share with you my art. Most of the Sonic art I do is drawn on my Sonic art book which I take a picture of through the webcam of my laptop and just upload it here. Other then that, I do do other work on the computer. I used to do my sonic art on Paint, reason why some of my early art is pixelated. Currently, I use Paint.Net. It is a free downloadable program which somewhat combines paint and photoshop, creating a program which has most options of photoshop + paint and is easy to use. So yeah... Hope you enjoy my art. If ya have suggestions or ideas, don't be shy to tell me, though I'm a lazy drawer and drawings take ages for me.

UPDATE: I have now gotten a Wacom Bamboo tablet so from now on, most of my art will be digital art on Corel and/or Paint.NET

Note that I'm a lazy person. My art usually takes ages to complete and sometimes, they are left unfinished.

Currently working on:
Sarah
Firo and WildFire

War Academy Groups art

Bullet
Max

Work on Hold:
Sand Storm Sahara

Your hand drawings seem to be among you best. The lines are very well-rounded and profound. On the computer drawings, however, it seems like the lines become very jagged and round. This seems to be less of a problem with your newer things, however.

Perhaps, if you're really into your drawing, you should get a tablet. I'm not sure how much one costs, but it could really help with your art.

Also, inb4sexyIRLfiro

Thank you all. I doubt I'll finish my sketches. They are from one or two years ago so I don't feel like completing something which I could draw a better version of.

You are right. My hand drawings are always better. Sadly, I don't have any scanner to upload them properly. I have been suggested to use a tablet before. I haven't really gone into it but I think I might consider more now. I probably will add my smileys and "bonuses" later on as well.

Not bad for a first time I reckon.

lol thanks. I'll probably start drawing on my latest version of Firo next. I've already designed it on paper. I just need to transfer it to the computer sorta-ish.

Thing is, seems my tablet art work is too soft. I can't make it look sharp or serious. It's just too cartoony. Takes this logo I did for a friend as an example:

It's supposed to look serious. Afterall, it's about a deathmatch with guns and blood. But yet, it looks so cartoony and soft. Like it's a kid's show or something.
But I just can't seem to make it work any other way...

Perhaps use darker colors and less rounded edges.

PostSubject: Re: Firo's art gallery    Thu 12 Apr 2012, 11:44 am

So today I finally decided to work on my latest design of Firo. I'd made a number of changes that now I believe have made him different from a normal recolored Super Sonic. I yet haven't finished it. I wanted to post this when I had finished it but once I was done with the outline, I felt that it didn't look as good as my book drawing. Also thought that maybe a few of you could give suggestions to the drawing.
So here is the sketch:

So As you can see, I've made a number of changes from Firo v1.5.
Here are the changes:
  • Eye shape and puple has changed
  • Bigger nose
  • Glasses removed
  • Sleeves on shirt removed
  • No more tattered clothing
  • Damaged left eye
  • Bigger backspines and more spread out
  • Quills
  • Flame pattern on quills improved
  • No more fire pattern coming out of Firo's gloves and shoes/boots

The most noticeable changes would probably be the left eye and the quills. The quills are now completely pointed up and no pointed straight, then up(like Shadow or Super Sonic). The eye... Well those lines on the eye are blood veins. They sort of make Firo look more insane and evil. The veins only appear though when Firo is agitated, angry, stressed or rage.

Anyways, so I thought I show this to you guys in case you guys wanted to suggest something. I'll finish this maybe tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

[Note that this is the Firo for EW, EoD and my own FF. This is not the same Firo from WA]

The little smile is a little...cheesy, if you ask me. I don't see how anyone could stand someone who smiles like that XD It would turn me off if I was Sarah :shot:

Lol... It's more of an insanity grin. But I guess you may be right. I guess I might go through a few different grins/smiles. Though I have no idea how to NOT make it cheesy-ish.

Alright... even though I was very busy, I managed to cram in some time to at least finish the outline draft of the logo for Tangled Dimensions. And here it is:

Now don't worry Ray, I know that the lines aren't smooth but remember that this is just the beginning draft I made. Right now, I want you and the others to tell me whether you like it this way or if ya want me to change the font, location of the star or add anything else to it. Once you are satisfied with the shape, I'll be going over the lines again, THIS TIME with equipment from Paint.NET and no tablet. Once I'm finished with that, I'll post THAT and once you're ok with THAT, we can discuss colors of the logo.

So for now, what do you think? Any changes you want?

At last, my Firo picture is done. It took a while but I personally think it didn't come out that bad.
So I present to you, the main Firo(EW), Firo v2.0

Now I can focus on the TD logo, so yay.

Thinking before speaking: Ok it looks good in and of itself...

...

...but come on, don't you think the eye-scars are a BIT overkill? It kinda makes it hard to believe that Sarah and/or Hope are/were woo'd by him, if you ask me.

I think I mentioned that before some time but his eye isn't always in that state. On the contrary, in a normal situation, Firo's eye looks perfectly normal(except the scars that is...).

But when he is stressed, excited or just gone insane or evil, the blood veins in his left eye which have been damage by the scar turn visible. If the stress or excitement continues or Firo just becomes totally insane or evil, his eye eventually will start bleeding, maybe even oozing out a bit of blood.
^
^
^
^ Now yes, THAT is a bit gross, but it doesn't happen that often. And even if it does... it's the person in the inside that counts. :perv:
Besides when you think about it, it wasn't all because of Firo's looks that impressed Hope and Sarah. I would say it was also his actions and determination and somewhat sad past.

But again, for most parts, Firo looks normal and sexy... and he knows it. :perv: :perv:
